The UC Quake Centre is proud to partner with –

Fulton Hogan.

Fulton Hogan is committed to a partnership with the UC Quake Centre to help improve community resilience in Christchurch, and throughout New Zealand, following the devastation of the Canterbury Earthquakes.

An accomplished eighty years in the transport infrastructure, water, energy, mining and land development sectors has seen Fulton Hogan provide services that include a full range of civil infrastructure, civil construction and road maintenance solutions. “They’ve earned their stripes building the backbone of New Zealand's roading network while making their mark on roading projects across Australasia.”*

The company was founded in 1933 by the pioneering duo, Julius Fulton and Robert Hogan. The 1920’s had seen a rise in the popularity of the motorcar and in the years following the war there was a large growth in the need for roadworks. Fulton Hogan would be one of the companies creating and building a system of New Zealand State Highways. Today, they continue to bring people together - building and maintaining the roads, ports, airports and civil infrastructure that connect communities.

They subscribe to a clear mission statement, 'to grow as a vertically integrated construction company and provide a safe workplace for employees while striving to minimise environmental impact and make a positive contribution to the wider community.'

Fulton Hogan is excited to partner with the UC Quake Centre and to contribute their design and construction knowledge, particularly in horizontal infrastructure.

Fulton Hogan Managing Director Nick Miller says, “We see this as an opportunity to foster engineering talent in New Zealand and utilise the learnings from recent seismic events. The Quake Centre’s research projects will make our communities safer and more resilient, not only in Christchurch but throughout New Zealand and around the world. This is one of the ways that Fulton Hogan is giving back to the communities we live and work in.”
